Abstrakt: Photovoltaics is currently one of the most dynamically developed renewable energy sources (RES) [1]. Despite this, the efficiency of the use of photovoltaic panels remains far from optimal. In order to improve their efficiency and reduce production costs, solar radiation concentrators are additionally introduced. Solar radiation concentrators can be reflective, lens or luminescent. Luminescent concentrators (LSC – Luminescent Solar Concentrator) unlike the others, they also operate efficiently in cloudy conditions, which is their big advantage [2]. The development of an ideal structure with the best properties is the subject of research by many centers around the world. Materials for LSC matrices with optimal properties are being sought (high refractive index, high level of phosphor solubility, possibility of optical coupling with photovoltaic cells, high stability in various atmospheric conditions). On the other hand, new phosphors with characteristic properties are being sought (large Stokes shift, photostability, high luminescence quantum yield, broad absorption spectrum, good solubility in the matrix). The problem of the solubility of the phosphor in the matrix is an important issue due to, among other things, the tendency of particles to agglomerate at high concentrations in the matrix. One way to improve this property of phosphors is to trap dye particles in a silica shell (core/shell structure) [3]. The aim of the presented work was to compare the photophysical properties of a selected luminescent dye among 1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]quinoxaline derivatives (PQX) and this dye trapped in silica (PQX/SiO2). The influence of these dyes on the optical properties of chemically doped silica layers was also investigated. The core/shell structures were created using the modified Stӧber method, while the layers with dyes were created using the sol-gel method and the spincoating technique.]]>

Abstrakt: The development of urban agglomerations makes it necessary to build new communication solutions. One of them is the construction of new tram lines or the renovation of degraded tracks. Activities related to the renovation of tracks result from numerous complaints from residents about the negative impact of vibrations generated by trams passing in the vicinity of inhabited buildings. The assessment of the impact of tram vibrations on the surrounding environment is an important aspect of tramway design and construction. The vibrations caused by the movement of trams can affect nearby buildings, structures, people, and the environment. The impact of tram vibrations on the surrounding environment can be evaluated through several methods, including numerical modelling, laboratory testing, and field measurements. The research concerned the vibrations of a selected representative building caused by trams. The building was erected using the traditional method. The building vibration measurements concerned three vibration components (two horizontal and a vertical component) and were performed by the rules specified in the standards. The source of vibrations was the passages of two types of trams with different speeds from 20 to 50 km/h. The analyzes focused on assessing the impact of the speed of trams and their types on building vibrations at two selected levels (ground level and third-floor level). The analysis of the test results shows that the vibration level of the building increases with the increase in the speed of the trams]]>

Abstrakt: This paper summarises the first stage of laboratory tests on the disintegration of fermented(digested) sludge. It addresses more efficient methane recovery and better stabilisation. Respirometric testson digested sludge from full-scale plants showed a possibility of increasing the total recovery of fermentationgas. The paper also describes the behaviour of the microorganism population and its ability to recover. Themethodology presented has been tested on sludge from a large (500,000 population equivalent) municipalwastewater treatment plant. A disintegration method using ultrasound was chosen as the reference, but anydisintegration technology can be tested using the proposed procedure.]]>

Przedstawiono proces modelowania, analizy i koordynacji różnych elementów konstrukcji. Omówiono także, jak Revit wspomaga kontrolę jakości projektu poprzez sprawdzanie poprawności geometrii, zliczanie ilości materiałów, a także przewidywanie gabarytów elementów konstrukcyjnych.]]>

Abstrakt: Subject of the article is an innovative modular load sensing (LS) system, which allows for free creation of hydraulic control systems in terms of the structure of functions and control logic, as well as in terms of their design, enabling free valve placing and adjustment of the valve block dimensions for installation. So far known mobile-type LS systems have mainly form of block manifolds, most often multi-section ones. The innovative LS modular system has been designed for the commonly used industrial standard, often called CETOP, which meets ISO 4401 mounting subplate pattern. To transmit LS signal the system uses port (X), which is dedicated to control line. The LS system (B type) presented in the article consists of two basic modules: an element for obtaining and processing the LS signal and an element for controlling the delivery of a constant pump, which for the LS type variable pump is unnecessary. As part of the developed system, few modified and adapted valve types and accessories were proposed, including e.g. directional control valves as an option. All other elements for building the system, the 4-way directional valves (classical and proportional) and modular (sandwich) valves are available on the CETOP valve market. The proposed LS system allows for cheap and easy way to apply the LS technology in industrial standard, as well as to easily modify existing systems, which enables energy savings. The article presents operation characteristics and also comparative analyzes of the energy efficiency of control systems with the applied LS-B system vs similar standard ones for several selected scenarios of system operation. The presented solution is patent pending.]]>
<![CDATA[Digital control of a vane pump]]> Wed, 15 Nov 2023 11:28:52 +0100 Filo, Grzegorz; Lisowski, Edward

Abstrakt: The progressive miniaturization in electronic system design allows us to implement digital controllers in an increasingly compact form, including installation directly in the hydraulic device. The control signals can be sent remotely from an external controller, or the built-in system can independently implement the control algorithm to some extent. The paper presents the results of numerical and experimental studies of a digital control system implemented in a variable displacement vane pump. It allows various control strategies to be implemented, including fixed value pressure control, constant power control, etc. The flow rate is set by controlling the position of the stator, while the pressure can be regulated using the built-in proportional valve. A mathematical pump and control system model was built as part of the work. Next, simulations were carried out in Matlab/Simulink environment, considering the dynamics of the system. To verify the mathematical model, a test bench was built for carrying out laboratory experiments with typical loads and changes in pump flow rate.]]>
